Is speaking in tongues, as we saw in Acts 2 fulfilled again by modern Charismatic and other Pentecostal churches, or is it just gibberish?
Hi Ralph,
I came out of twenty-five years of apostolic Pentecostal indoctrination almost a year ago. I was involved in some form of ministry for almost the entire time. I am not affiliated with any denomination currently and do not desire to be. I began internally questioning some of the teaching and culture but really was afraid to go too far into “heresy.” I am now trying to flesh out my faith and find out what the Bible really says. I have found your videos and blogs to be very enlightening and what you say confirms some other sources I listen to. If you look at the book of Acts in context, speaking in languages had a practical purpose that does not fit a modern application. The Word of God is printed in almost every language. I am glad you brought up the infiltration of Hinduism into modern Pentecostal and Charismatic denominations. I truly believe these people are delving into witchcraft and are deceived into believing that the Holy Spirit operates this way in the face of there being no scriptural evidence, while touting they are the first century church restored. Honestly, I have witnessed more adulterous affairs (“following the leading of the Holy Ghost”) than I care to remember. I am not trying to judge but something is seriously wrong with this religion. I see clearer than I have seen in a very long time and I hope that some day I can help others escape, detoxify, and find the true Jesus Christ. Please, I encourage you to continue the good fight; there are others like me that need that true light in the face of cognitive dissonance, confusion, and dark isolation. God bless.
