Clarifications, Corrections and Apologies
Throughout the life of this blog, not only has my spirit morphed and changed, but my purpose and motivation. In the early days of exiting from Spiritual Abuse and a high-control environment, I was angry, bitter at times, and retaliatory at others. Through the years of counseling others in my ministry, I have seen the same pattern play out time and time again.

Dressing up for Church?
Thus, there isn’t anything wrong with dressing up for Church, but there could be everything wrong with dressing up for church! Is that really you, or a show? Are you trying to display something/someone you aren’t? Is Sunday really different than Monday? Is who we are different one day to the next?

Book Review: Facial Hair, A Christian Perspective
Clearly, the theme is to superimpose the man-made commandments and principles of the Oneness Pentecostal Church/Holiness movement over Scripture, blatantly admitting this isn’t something God dealt with personally. Knowing that Scripture is the more sure word of prophecy, I tend to believe if God meant for this to be an issue, He would have been wise enough to deal with it.

Justified by Faith, Alone
And how eye-opening it is, not as a freedom to skip obedience, but as a reason to be obedient, when we read, “of the righteousness he had by faith, while he was still uncircumcised.” His obedience is not what merited grace, or righteousness, the grace he received is what motivated Abraham’s, and now our, obedience!

The Commandments Of Man – Vain Worship
Isaiah 29 is nearly verbatim to the condition of Israel in Jesus’ day. The people were hypocrites, doing lip-service to God but in truth, they were creating a system of fear-based on their own traditions, as if they were the commandment of men.

Please stop talking about Jezebel…
What I actually want to stop talking about, so I’m going to talk about it, is the efforts to use Jezebel as the foundation for the house of cards within the Holiness movement as the anti-makeup and jewelry monument (idol). A statue erected and constantly glorified across pulpits to disparage and to dissuade the usage of such things.

The Initial Evidence of The Spirit
I recently heard a man teaching at a Seminary say, “Do you want to know what the meaning of Scripture is? Scripture is the meaning of Scripture.” In other words, there isn’t a magical incantation, translation method or pixie dust you can sprinkle on the pages to have what it […]

The Initial Evidence of Tongues Heresy
Whether or not an individual believes Tongues are still an active gift of the Spirit today, there is no question that the Bible does not teach that Tongues are the definitive sign that a new believer is Saved, or justified in the eyes of God. In fact, it clearly teaches that the only way this can happen (being justified before God) is based on the Obedience of Christ. (Rom 3:21-26, Rom 5:19) Tongues are not a fruit of the Spirit and they are also not to be a corporate body activity.

Pentecostal Fire? You better hope not!
In the ESV Bible, the word ‘Fire’ is found 465 times, in 424 verses. I couldn’t begin to list them.. suffice it to say, anyone asking for that fire to fall down clearly has no idea what ‘fire’ represented, and if you are ‘on fire’ for God, you are sitting in judgment and wrath and eternal torment in the Lake of Fire that is never quenched.

Throwing the Baby Out with the Bathwater
Some of the most basic concepts of Christianity and Biblical knowledge are often skewed by organizations that take over your thinking, individuality and personal responsibility. For instance, I existed for 15-years in an echo-chamber. I was forbidden from following other pastors and learning from them, even pastors in our organization. I was to ‘learn my shepherd’s voice’ and no one else’s.
