Dealing with False Doctrine?

The answer can only be a careful and concise study of the Word of God that is grounded in the counsel of many and gaining, through the Spirit of God, Wisdom that comes from the anointing that abides in you and teaches you all things if you abide in Him. (1 John 2:27)

Contending for the Faith – A Necessary Fight

We are currently living in a day when not only are false prophets and fake teachers found in Bible-believing circles but moreso there are blasphemous teachers who masquerade the Gospel in their private jets and crystal palaces with claims of prosperity, health and wealth, slick sermons with make-up camera-ready faces preaching another gospel than what the Apostles one and for all delivered to the saints.

Throwing the Baby Out with the Bathwater

Some of the most basic concepts of Christianity and Biblical knowledge are often skewed by organizations that take over your thinking, individuality and personal responsibility. For instance, I existed for 15-years in an echo-chamber. I was forbidden from following other pastors and learning from them, even pastors in our organization. I was to ‘learn my shepherd’s voice’ and no one else’s.

Why Oneness Pentecostals have Salvation Wrong (Acts 2:38) and you should avoid it

The conclusion is that the ‘Gift of the Spirit’ is not the supposed initial evidence of speaking in tongues. In fact, Scripture makes it clear that the gift of the spirit is the eternal promise (Ephesians 1:13) seal we receive upon believing in Christ. In our Vague Dogmas series, we identify Christian beliefs that are not grounded in Scriptural truth or are cherry-picked Scriptures misused and clumped together incorrectly to create a vague dogma.

Vague Dogmas: Series Introduction

Has someone ever said something to you and you thought, “That’s not in the Bible!”

When it’s Right to be Wrong

Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand they say. Or, Ignorance is Bliss. I believe the first one, but the second is misleading. It’s somewhat akin to the lie our parents always told us (at least, mine did), “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me“. […]

You should know what you Believe

In my very short 39 years on this earth I have discovered a simple truth; That common sense, facts and reasoning have no place in a belief held by emotion. A mentor of mine early in my professional career repeatedly told me, “What you believe with emotion is reality regardless of […]
